The Upper Sioux Community strives to provide decent, safe and sanitary housing through the elimination of substandard housing and homelessness. By providing supportive services and financial assistance programs, we seek to increase affordable rental housing and homeownership opportunities, thereby improving and bettering the living conditions of all community members.

Housing Commission

As a member of the USCHA appointed by the USC Board of Trustees, each Commissioner is responsible to advise the Housing Director and the Board of Trustees in administering the Housing Program for the Upper Sioux Community as outlined in the current Indian Housing Plan (IHP) under the 1996 Native American Housing Assistance and Self-Determination Act (NAHASDA). In addition, Commissioners will provide program guidance and approve programs and applicants as necessary. Commissioners will assist with providing direction, continuity and structure to tribal housing efforts. Commissioners will encourage good rental and homeownership practices with clients and as an individual.
